Ernest Miller was a German born scenic artist and house painter who moved to Oregon in 1885. He soon found that paint that could handle the unique weather of the Northwest was difficult to find (purchased paint had to be shipped around the Horn), so in 1890 he purchased a stone mill and began manufacturing his own. His product was of such good quality that soon other paint contractors came to him to ask if they could use "Ernest Miller House Paint" and the Miller Paint Company was born.
Over the years, his sons and other family members joined him, and the business expanded north to Seattle and south to Medford and Ashland. Miller Paint has been called on for use on Navy and Merchant Marine ships and in homes and businesses of all kinds.
In the more than 117 years since it’s founding, the Miller Paint Company has grown to include 33 stores and thousands of satisfied customers. So, whether it’s for interior or exterior use, in flat or high gloss finish, and in any of hundreds of colors, Miller Paint is still the best paint made in the Northwest for the Northwest. |
