Full Time Regular Employees FTR

Miller Paint Co. recognizes the importance of a benefits program that provides high-level protection to employees and their families, while also continuing education and awareness so we all become better-educated consumers of our benefits. As an employee owned company, the benefits that we have are an important part of our total compensation package. They provide for ongoing medical, dental, prescription and vision care.

Our comprehensive benefits program has been created to fulfill a wide range of needs and to provide an effective benefits package for our employees and their families.

Premiums for medical, dental, prescription and vision coverage is all done on a pre-tax basis, so premiums are tax-free.

Medical Insurance: Must be employed at Full-Time Status

  • Eligibility is effective on the first day of the first month following the completion of three full calendar months of employment.
  • Coverage is also available for spouse/eligible children/domestic partners.

Dental Insurance: Must be employed at Full-Time Status

  • Eligibility is the same as Medical Insurance
    • Routine examinations
    • X-rays
    • Cleaning of teeth
    • Extractions
    • Crowns/Bridges
    • Replacement of existing full or partial dentures

Vision Insurance: Must be employed at Full-Time Status

  • Eligibility is the same as Medical Insurance
    • Eye exam once every 24 months.
    • Lenses, frames and contact lenses are covered up to the maximum payable benefit.

Our Supplemental Insurance Options

 

Full Time Regular Employees FTR

Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance:
Employees who choose Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, will automatically be covered under our Group Life and AD&D insurance at $10,000. Miller Paint takes care of paying that premium.

Group Life:

  • Upon an employee’s death, their beneficiary will receive the full amount of the basic group life insurance coverage($10,000).

AD&D:

  • Provides specified benefits for a covered accidental bodily injury that directly causes dismemberment. In the event that death occurs from a covered accident, both the Life and AD&D benefit would be payable.

Supplemental Life Insurance:
If an employee would like more life insurance and they are a full-time status employee, they can apply for up to a maximum coverage of $100,000 – through our Supplemental Life Insurance Plan. Cost for this insurance is based on age and the amount of insurance requested.

Supplemental Short Term Disability(SSTD):
Full-time status employees may purchase SSTD Insurance that will provide with 60% of the employees basic weekly income to a maximum of $1,000. Benefits begin on the 15th day of disability.

Supplemental Long Term Disability (SLTD):
Full-time status employees may purchase SLTD Insurance that will provide 60% of the employees monthly salary to a maximum of $5,000. Benefits begin after 90 days.

Our ESOP and Retirement Benefits

Employee’s retirement may not be high on their priority list, but it is on ours.
Through our Company paid ESOP and an employee’s own payroll deducted 401(k), they can earn money to fund your retirement.

What is an ESOP?
ESOP stands for Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

This is a retirement account that is based on Miller Paint Company’s annual contributions, appreciation or depreciation in the value of the MPC stock and each employee’s length of service.

After one year of employment and 1,000 hours worked, employees will be ready to enter the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Then they enter the ESOP on January 1st or July 1st, depending on date of hire.

Here is how vesting works:

  • Enter the Plan in January:
    • Work one full year and have at least 1,000 hours – Vesting will begin at 20%
  • Enter the Plan in July:
    • Work until December 31st and have 1,000 hours – Vesting will begin at 20%

Each year of service equals 20% vesting. After 5 years of vested service, employees are 100% vested and all the money in their ESOP account is theirs for retirement.

401(k) Plan
Any employee can join our 401(k), whether full-time, part-time or temporary status. It’s an easy, pre-taxed payroll deduction and a great way to start a retirement portfolio.

Open enrollment dates are every quarter coinciding with or following the employee’s date of hire. Each quarter employees may adjust their contribution amount.

Part Time Regular Employees PTR

Our part time employees are a wonderful part of our staffing and we value their contribution to our company.

Part Time Regular benefits are extended to employees who worked 1,000 hours the previous calendar year. When they meet that requirement, the following benefits become effective the January 1st following the qualifying year.

Vacation: Must all be used in a calendar year

  • After each qualifying year, part-time status employees receive 40 hours of vacation for the year.

Holidays: Part-time status paid at 4 hours each
Miller Paint’s Paid Holidays are:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • July Fourth
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Two (2) Consecutive Days at Christmas as scheduled by the Company

Sick Time: Unused time rolls over and accumulates every year

  • January 1st of each year, part-time status employees that worked and qualified the previous year receives 24 hours of sick time.
  • Employees that leave Miller Paint after 3 or more calendar years will receive a 50% pay out the balance.

Life Balance Program:

  • Employees receive benefits and discounts on activities that encourage members and their families to stay active, healthy, relieve stress and have fun.

Employee Discount: Receive discount pricing on purchases at Miller Paint Co.

  • Immediate family members in an employee’s household also benefits from this discount.
