Paint Recycling

Looking to dispose of leftover, unwanted paint? PaintCare makes it easy by operating paint stewardship programs on behalf of paint manufacturers in states that have passed paint stewardship laws. Oregon was the first state to pass PaintCare in 2009 and Washington in 2021.

PaintCare sites accept house paint and primers, stains, sealers, and clear coatings (e.g., shellac and varnish) but does not accept aerosols (spray cans), solvents, and products intended for industrial or non-architectural use. Learn more about products accepted by PaintCare.
